Important notes: 

1. This Brand New FSSK Model F Keyboard has an anodized metal (aluminum) case.  The photos in the product gallery include F104, FSSK, and a group shot of various boards including the Regular Gray anodized case option.
2. Notes on cases and cosmetic imperfections:  Please review the terms and conditions on the home page, especially the notes on the case finishes.  In summary, due to manufacturing variations, all anodized compact F104/FSSK cases are expected to have defects.  If you prefer a more durable finish please choose the classic style cases.  Anodized cases have defects including but not limited to scratches, scuffs, and clouding/discolorations.  Cosmetic defects are most visible on the Regular Gray cases and least visible on the True Red cases for some reason.  It is not possible to swap between compact and classic versions of the F104/FSSK keyboard cases like you can between compact and classic F62/F77.  Extra compact cases are not available.
3. The Ultra Compact FSSK is available in Black, Regular Gray, and True Red, while the Ultra Compact F104 is available in Black, Regular Gray, True Red, and Blue.  The blue color is limited to 5 keyboards.  Blue is not offered for the FSSK.
4. There is no HHKB-style split right shift option for the ultra compact F104 and ultra compact FSSK keyboards.  You can perform a non-HHKB style split right shift, split the enter, spacebar, backspace, left shift, and also (just for the F104) the num pad +, Enter, and 0 keys.
5. All keyboards were factory set to the ANSI layout.  You may choose a non-ANSI key set but you will be invoiced extra for me to convert it.
6. Some keyboards will have the smaller space bar preconfigured while others will have the larger space bar preinstalled.  You cannot choose between these two options and agree to accept whichever option you get.  As with all Model F keyboards, the smaller space bar results in a 1mm gap on its right side between the space bar and the 1.25U menu key, slightly but noticeably larger than the gap between all other keys.
7. As shown in the photos, the FSSK does not offer a factory-installed LED lock light option, keeping in tradition with the IBM Model M SSK (Space Saving Keyboard), though the controller has expansion pins if you wanted to add them.  Check out the manual for details on this and other mods.  Also the solenoid must be externally mounted for any compact case keyboard – there are some 3d printed holder projects referenced in the manual.
8. Additional key sets of any available style can be ordered on the “Full Key Set” product page.  Please check out that page for additional details.  No longer available:  Original IBM SSK key set, extremely limited quantity; while supplies last; you agree to accept the regular US set if this set is not available.
9. Some folks have outstanding orders such as a beam spring keyboard, Model F keyboard, or accessories.  I have already paid the factory for these items and they are either in stock, in production, or have completed production and are on their way to me.  Unfortunately I am unable to exchange or cancel any prior orders so that you can get one of these new offerings.  Please don’t ask!  No exceptions.

Choose Custom/Low Serial Number and jump ahead in line!  Also a great way to support the project a little more and request your own serial number and/or production date.  Serials can be up to 7 numerical digits only – no letters or other special characters.

Please do check out the other items in the store, especially the First Aid Kit of spare parts for future repairs once production has long shut down (over 1000 kits ordered so far!), the brand new custom made solenoid and solenoid driver, controllers, key pullers, extra key sets (the key tops do wear down over time and you won’t be able to buy more XT quality one piece keys after the end of the project) and also a spare custom made 3 meter USB cable (same as the one that is installed with the keyboard). I hope to be able to manufacture as many First Aid Kits and spare parts as possible to keep all these great Model F keyboards running decades from now.

Did you know that every 2U and larger key (backspace-sized key) and larger can be split into two keys, and the sensing pads are already there?  Just add a flipper and then you can add keys!  (Example splittable keys:  space bar, both shift keys, backspace, enter)  I recommend ordering the First Aid Kit to enable future repairs and modifications.  I offer a hardware layout modification service for a small extra charge (split or un-split keys only) – email me for details if interested.
