I’ve poked around the site quite a bit trying to figure out what the Ultra Compact Modern Case F77 using the default color choices would actually look like. The default colors are “Regular Grey” for the case and “Regular printed key set (US ANSI layout)” for the keys.

As an old time Model M user, I am excited to get this superb new Model F, and the default configuration is what I want.

However, I cannot for the life of me find out what it actually looks like. There are only 2 pictures on the product page, and they both have a black case. It doesn’t indicate what type of keys are pictured.

I also looked through the vast list of images here: https://imgur.com/a/gw8FOl0, but again it is not clear what is what.

Can someone please point out what the default configuration (Regular Grey + Regular printed keys) actually looks like for the Ultra Compact Modern Case F77?

Thanks!

The Ultra Compact Modern Case F77 page says,

And for your reference here’s what the hard anodized ultra compact gray case will look approximately like.  It’s difficult to photograph accurately.

followed by the image at https://imgur.com/a/Gzh2ZFq at the time of this writing.

The reference image does match or look much like the color of the case in the image linked from the comment by R P Swinkels.

Also, these “regular gray” reference images for the F77 colors do appear to generally match the “regular gray” case color that is in the product images for the “Ultra Compact Modern Case F62…Kishsaver” at https://www.modelfkeyboards.com/product/f62-model-f-keyboard-kishsaver-ultra-compact/.

(I too sought images of the completed “default” ultra compact board.  It seems confirmed to me that, at least that currently, the “regular gray” is more of a “silvery gray look” than a “beige/off-white gray look”.)

Yes, the colors “silver/blue gray, regular gray, and Industrial Gray are noticeably different.

Silver/Blue Gray is a classic style zinc case color.

Regular Gray is reminiscent of a 2015 Macbook pro type color in my opinion. It’s only available for the aluminum compact cases.

Industrial Gray is a green/tan/gray type color popularized through the IBM Industrial line of various systems with both Model M and Model F keyboards.

All case colors are shown in the continually updated album of keyboard variations at this link: https://imgur.com/a/gw8FOl0

The case should be this one here: https://i.imgur.com/3Op4M0E.jpeg . The key colors are like shown on the black case on the order page.
