The repair kit for the F62/F77 does not include a pair of steel spacebar tabs, which are offered separately. Is it the unlikelihood of their need for replacement which explains their absence in the included parts in the kit? Also, would it be best to order a pair now just in case, or will they be purchasable in the future if a need ever arose?
The steel tabs are offered separately to keep the price of the First Aid Kit down. The parts in the kit are higher priority.
Another part not included in the first aid kit is a spare set of keys. Even the high quality, original IBM XT keys eventually wore down in some instances of heavy usage; I suggest everyone gets an extra set of keys if they will be doing a lot of typing.
Everything is being made in an early production round and then one final round later this year – I suggest getting everything now with your current order.
