What’s included:  This product listing is only for the extra case – of course the keys and the rest of the keyboard in the photos below are not included if you are just ordering the extra case!  LED overlays, feet/bumpers, P clips (for strain relief), and badges are not included with extra cases.

Available colors:  Only the pictured case combinations are offered; some combinations listed in this paragraph are no longer in stock; by ordering you agree that you may not receive your requested color (feel free to ask me beforehand).  As of 2026 for example you can’t get beige or industrial gray F62.  The ultra compact cases only come in regular gray, black, Dark Blue, Carolina/Light Blue, Off-White/Beige, Industrial Gray, and True Red.  Classic style cases are only available in Off-White/Beige, Industrial Gray, Black, Silver/Blue Gray, and True Red.  Beam spring cases and compact Model F cases do not come in Silver Gray; if you pick Silver Gray you will receive a Regular Gray case.  If you order a compact-style only color on a classic case or other non-stocked case for example, you agree to receive a color at random.  The web site does not stop you from ordering a case that is not offered.

Swapping Cases:  It is not possible to swap between compact and classic versions of the F104/FSSK keyboard cases like you can between compact and classic F62/F77.  For those of you who want to buy spare cases in another color for the F104/FSSK, please buy only ones of the same type (compact or classic).  With the optional corresponding bottom inner assembly plate, you can swap the inner assemblies between compact and classic F62 keyboards and also between compact and classic F77 keyboards, but it is not possible to swap between compact and classic versions of any of the other keyboard cases (F104, FSSK, etc.).  You cannot swap between new and original IBM keyboard cases.  The other functional parts besides the case and bottom inner assembly are the same between the various Model F keyboards.  To switch between compact and classic cases you’ll need to order the needed bottom inner assembly plate for your new case by ordering 25 units of the store item $1 increments (it’s not included with the case).  Also don’t forget to order a spare LED overlay if ordering a case with lights (104, 122) since extra cases do not include any other accessories.  Swapping between compact and classic beam spring cases is not possible.

Important Notes and Disclaimers: legal, safety, and limited warranty information for this MODEL F LABS LLC product is available to consumers pre-sale and will be furnished upon request, by writing to the email or mailing address at the bottom of this web page.  Powdercoated case colors are not guaranteed to be close to that of the originals and will vary from the photos on this web site.  Cosmetic damage: just like computer monitors are often not sold as cosmetically perfect products and having several dead and stuck pixels is considered acceptable, and just like with the IBM original keyboards, 100% of the powdercoated cases and other parts for this project have minor, but noticeable cosmetic damage, including scratches, scuffs, bumps, small case gaps, lost paint, lines, and surface variations for die cast and injection molded parts.  Everyone is required to accept the terms and conditions at checkout indicating that they agree that all products are subject to cosmetic damage without the ability to receive a replacement.  The limited warranty covers neither cosmetic damage upon arrival nor wear from usage over time, which means that you will have to live with an imperfect keyboard or touch up the keyboard with a can of sample paint.  The reason is that the cases were designed to reproduce the old matte powdercoating paint style IBM approved in the 1970s and 80s when beam spring and their Model F successor keyboards were designed.  For the original zinc style cases made years ago, a couple bolt holes may not have a stopping point due to factory overtightening, but this should not affect functionality.  These defects are considered acceptable so please keep this in mind before ordering.  You can always order touch up paint where needed (see the bottom of this update post for details).

Case Colors:

In the first photo: (Left to Right) Black, Regular Gray, Industrial Gray, True Red, Off-White/Beige

In the second photo: Dark Blue on top, Carolina (Light) blue on the bottom.

For the Model M Style F104/FSSK/F122 cases, please note the Regular Gray and Silver/Blue Gray selections give you the same case color, a variant of gray that does not 100% match the other gray case color options.
