Brand New Original IBM Model F metal case 77 Key F77 keyboard, part 6019303
This keyboard is not for sale – I’m keeping this one! If you are considering this original IBM F77 keyboard, I recommend you consider the Brand New Model F Keyboards (click the home page for more information!) which all feature a built-in USB controller with NKRO, fully customizable with function layers, macros, and the option to customize each key and layout. You can’t do any of that on an original Model F keyboard without soldering several dozen wires to the currently available xwhatsit controller (check out the store for this item) or using an older xwhatsit controller design that is no longer available for sale anywhere. Any questions feel free to check out the home page and email me.
You can adjust it to better match ANSI or the standard Model M layout – not a perfect match but close. This is a fully reversible process that involves opening up the inner frame assembly, moving one spring and pivot plate to another barrel, and replacing the Enter, Backspace, | , F, J, and left shift keys with those from a standard-style IBM Model M keyboard, while also including the three needed stabilizers. The F and J Model M keys were added because the original F and J keys do not have the “nubs.”
Shows signs of shelf wear including scuffs and some small areas of missing paint, and has some rust on the metal plates which is characteristic of virtually every Model F I own. As this computer component is around 30 years old, no warranty is offered. Sold as is
