This keyboard doesn’t seem to have an escape key. It is kind of important to us Vim’ers. Is there a way to get this on the keyboard?

And for that matter, where are the function keys? It seems to be under the “proposed layout” listed here: http://imgur.com/a/WR7h4 but none of the pictures show function keys!

The keyboard uses function layers to address keys given the more compact layout.

The Esc key can be the top left key – yiu can switch the physical key to Esc (this key is included) or access it through pressing the Fn / Fubction key and the top left key on the keyboard.  Every key is fully programmable.

Like on the popular compact keyboard the HHKB, function keys are accessed by pressing Fn + 1 key on the top row for F1, Fn+2 for F2, etc.  You can order extra F1 side printed keys but the default set does not have F1 printed (still the same functionality either way).

The entire keyboard – every key – is freely programmable and assignable. You can make all keys ESC if you want. You can make Left Shift into FN, you can have the spacebar type out a € symbol and make P the space. Use the numberpad to type emojis, have your number row go backwards from 0 to 1 – it’s completely up to you what each key does
